Spring 2017

                                                                   LANSDOWNE NEWS

                             Welcome

                             By Michelle Megson

         C
Thank you for making me feel so welcome. As the new Director
of Care Services, it is a pleasure to be working with you.
Robert at 'All about flowers' at The Calyx
I commenced in my new role the same time that influenza
arrived so I haven’t had the chance to meet everyone yet. I
really appreciate the support of our residents, their families
and our staff during the flu outbreak. We managed to stop the
outbreak and we are now able to return to normal visiting.
Visitors, please keep in mind that if you are unwell, it really is
best to stay away from our home. Visit by phone instead.
Living communally makes it very easy for infectious illnesses to
spread very quickly. I have been quite impressed with the care Elizabeth Bay House Tour
of our residents and the involvement that our families have
with their loved ones. I am sure there is always room for
improvement but I have to say that I believe the residents at
Lansdowne Gardens are very much loved and cared for.
It will be great to have some beautiful Spring weather so that
we can get out and about again. For those who would like to
know more about me, I have a Registered Nurse background,
originally from St Vincents Hospital, Sydney. I have worked in
many different areas of health. I came into Aged Care about Craft & Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour
fifteen years ago and have worked with several organisations
in management roles. My most recent experience has been
with Cranbrook Care, helping to commission Bayswater
Gardens, our sister residence at Abbotsford. I look forward to
getting to know everyone and to make sure we are providing
the best care and comfort to our residents. Feel free to drop by
my office or send me an email at any time.

         Kind regards

Residents making croissants for Bastille Day
