TEAM WESTMOUNT STEPS UP IN UNCERTAIN TIMES
Not long after the pandemic was declared, Westmount
opened its pantry, offering take-out meals to give
members a low-risk option for stocking their kitchens
and feeding their families. Thank you to our new Food
& Beverage Manager, Tyson Stroeder, and to Chef

On behalf of the Board, I thank the entire management
team for working so diligently in each of their areas
of responsibility to keep staff and members safe
while continuing to get the job done in a stressful
environment. Controller David White worked long
hours with members of the Audit & Finance Committee
to understand the various government subsidies
and determine if Westmount was eligible for these
programs. Superintendent Cory Janzen and his team
kept our course in pristine condition throughout the
summer in spite of the high levels of play and long
periods of dry hot weather. The Pro Shop team headed
by Rob Strahan provided excellent and friendly
service throughout, putting in extra effort, along with
Mike Skimson, to provide as many opportunities for
golf events as possible under COVID-19 protocols.

season with the help of his capable staff, and the Food
and Beverage team have done a wonderful job of
continuing to offer excellent service under challenging
circumstances. All of Team Westmount deserves our
thanks for their adaptability in making the Westmount
member experience as normal as possible by accepting
their new work environment and pitching in to cover off
new duties as needed.
Our Board of Directors has also risen to the challenges
of 2020 by addressing many unanticipated issues
resulting from the pandemic by attending extra
meetings to plan for all these new scenarios. Thanks to
each of you for putting Westmount and its members
first. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Charlene
Chamberlain for scheduling and keeping up with
the minutes of all those meetings while making
arrangements for staff to work remotely and liaising
with technical consultants to keep the Club’s website
up to date.
Finally, thank you to all members for continuing to
support the Club, the Board, Management and staff
by adapting to the COVID-19 protocols and respecting
your fellow members. As the season winds down this
fall, continue to be diligent as we face the possibility of
a second wave of coronavirus cases. Please don’t let
your guard down as we work together to keep everyone
safe and healthy at the Club and in our community.
