8. What kind of music do you like?
I listen to all kinds of music, I think each type has a different character that deserves to be
heard. It also depends on the day, which determines the shade of music I feel I should listen to.

        9. Can you play this music with your saxophone alone?
Yes, I often try to experiment, sometimes with results I would have hoped for better, other times
        I am positively surprised.

        10. What do you think of the lessons?
I have a positive impression of the lessons, especially of being able to produce a gratifying end
result with a group, little by little, even with effort.

        11. What else would you like to do in the Class Band?
I would like to attend concerts of other orchestras as a spectator with my class band.

Maria is student of one of the Class Bands run by the Filarmonica Bassanese.

Born at the behest of the citizens of Bassano, who felt the need to set up a musical band , the
Bassano Philharmonic has almost 200 years of history to its credit. In fact, the official founda-
tion of this Society dates back to February 15, 1811, even if some documents even show the date
of 1796. Two centuries of life, during which many things have changed: obviously the musicians,
the directors, the historical events that have led to a natural succession of more or less happy
periods; but this association has always been a very strong presence in the heart of the Bassano
people, which not even the forced pause during the war has dampened. At that time, in fact, as
there were no means to spread the music in the houses, the band was the real musical protago-
        nist of the town.

Since many years the Filarmonica Bassanese is taking care of Class Bands at different schools
in Bassano del Grappa. With around 6 projects running the Filarmonica is one of the biggest
supporters of Yamaha Class Band in Europe. The artistic director and conductor of the Filarmo-
nica, Davide Pauletto, is our Senior Key Teacher for Italy. Our close relationship with the board,
teachers and director secures a future plan and common goal: learn and play together and offer
the children a future with making music!
