STRINGS CLASS FOR SENIORS
Strings Class is not only for children. Although everybody thinks immediately about young child-
ren when starting to learn to play the violin, it is also suitable for people in all ages!
We have experiences with Class Bands for seniors and this is working well. It is good to think
about the idea to offer Strings Class to elder people. The lessons can be nearly the same as for
young children. The use of Essential Elements is the same.
Strings Class or Class Band for elder people / seniors is of course also a social thing. People want
to meet each other and drink a cup of coffee and have a nice chat next to making music.
Music means a lot to everybody - young and old and every age in between!
If you want to start a Senior Strings Class, we are there to support you!
⓿ The best option is to have a violin teacher, a viola teacher and a cello
teacher involved. In case there is also Double Bass, of course a dedi
cated teacher for DB is needed. One of the teachers will be the conduc-
tor too.
⓿ If you want to have a double bass in the strings class, you can use a
cello with the strings tuned like a double bass. This is used often and
works fine for children.
⓿ A violin can also be used as viola, also changing the strings and tuning.
Depending on the measure of the violin.
