www Brothers Brewery Ltd) in my spare time. The beer is on sale in pubs and shops around Camden.
Jack Ingilby: After leaving Oundle, I took a gap year and was a langlauf instructor. I once successfully rode a tandem bike down two flights of stairs! I went on to study Philosophy at Leeds University. I started out in restaurant PR, the highlight of which was interviewing Antonio Carluccio (RIP), but eventually I became an accountant (ATT). I live in a basement in Fulham with a cat and a girlfriend. I still enjoy listening to terrible music.
Maximilian Lefort: After completing my BA in International Relations at the University of Exeter, I decided to pursue a career very different to my studies, in the art world, starting with internships in the post-war and contemporary art department of Christie’s auction house, first in Zurich and later in London. After completing these internships, I decided to join a gallery in Switzerland as a sales associate, splitting my time between Zurich and St Moritz for almost two years, before coming back to London to work in the same capacity in July 2015 at a Mayfair gallery specialising in Italian post-war and contemporary art. In November last year I joined Marlborough Contemporary, where I am now an associate director. In addition to sales at the gallery, I also attend various art fairs and gallery events, which require regular travel to various destinations around Europe, as well as New York, Hong Kong and China. While I very much enjoy a relatively nomadic lifestyle, I also like coming home to my flat in Pimlico, which I share with my girlfriend.
Tim Lui: Upon leaving Oundle, I studied for a BA in Engineering for Life Sciences at Cambridge University, then a PGD in Entrepreneurship at Cambridge Judge Business School. While at Cambridge, I founded a tech start-up for taxi-booking and ride-sharing. That was before Uber became popular in the UK and unfortunately
the business could not reach the next level. I returned to Hong Kong in 2014 and founded another start-up called Heartisans, aiming to help heart-disease patients manage their health better. Our flagship products are a smartwatch that can measure blood pressure anywhere anytime without an inflatable cuff and an electrocardiogram that can detect a heart attack with deep learning technologies. With the help of investors and Hong Kong government funding, the product was launched in 2017 with over seven- figure sales to date.
James Martin: After leaving Oundle, I took a year off to do a bit of volunteering and travelling in Mexico, before spending three years in Manchester studying for a History BA. After the usual lengthy deliberation on how to use my degree, I moved to London to pursue a career in digital advertising. I’m currently working at an advertising agency as a digital account director and have just moved to Brixton with my girlfriend, Abby.
Jake Priestley: After leaving Oundle I headed to London and completed a BA in Philosophy from UCL and then a MSc in Management from London Business School. Having completed a couple of different internships in investment banking during my degrees, I joined Morgan Stanley full time and worked in their fixed income trading department for four years in London. Two years ago, I switched jobs and moved into my current role working in investment management at Moore Capital Management in London. I have lived in Camden, Mayfair, Canary Wharf and Clapham with Hal Sutcliffe during my 10 years in London. I’m currently living in Clapham with my girlfriend, Sophie, but spend most weekends out of London in Oxfordshire and aim to get up to the Western Isles of Scotland 2-3 times a year.
Alex Russell: After leaving Oundle, I headed to Leeds to study Philosophy. My third year was spent taking advantage of the study abroad
programme with 10 months at Queen's University, Canada, before heading back to Leeds for a fourth year. I then got myself a working holiday visa and moved to Australia, spending two years in Perth and Sydney, and five months working on a farm in the bush, chasing sheep and seeding crops. Unfortunately, my visa ran out and I reluctantly moved back to Europe, doing a Master’s degree in PPE at Leiden University, Netherlands. I finally moved back to London in 2016 and now work in London Bridge for a consultancy. I live with Hal Sutcliffe, my first room- mate in the Third Form at Oundle.
Derek Siu: Following the short summer break after leaving Oundle, I went straight to the University of Bath to study Architecture. Upon finishing the degree, I opted for a half-year out to work abroad in Beijing. I then returned to Bath to pursue Master of Architecture studies. I moved to London in 2014 once I’d completed my Masters and since then I’ve worked as an architect in the global multidisciplinary design consultancy, Arup, on building and infrastructural projects across the commercial, tech, transport and sports sectors. I have worked predominantly on mission critical facilities in the Nordic countries in recent years. Outside of work, I enjoy playing football and running. At the time of writing, I am training for the Midnight Sun Marathon that is due to take place in Tromsø, Norway.
Hal Sutcliffe: Upon arriving at Oundle in 2003, I was placed in a dorm with Jake Priestley and Alex Russell. Since leaving, I’ve spent three years at the University of Liverpool, two years back in Warwickshire and five years living in London, with Jake and Alex respectively. I look back on my time at Oundle fondly and regularly see many of the friends I made there. In these 10 years the most important things that I’ve come to realise are that life’s for living and everyone can do what they want.
