Message from principal

        Dear Parents and Children

2020 is a special year, not just for Singapore but the world over. In 2020, we had to cancel our
Sports Day, Multi-cultural week, monthly visits to the elderly centres and many other community
        service programmes.

For our annual Graduation Camp, we did not want to give it up as it holds a collective memory
for all our graduates since 2000. Thus, with the determination of the K2 teachers and the help of
the camp instructors, as well as support from the K2 parents, we transformed the various spaces
in Creative O into a camp site!

For our year-end concert, it is the final stage in the children’s learning journey at Creative O.
Thus, we strongly feel that it must go on regardless of whatever form it may take. With the
support of the whole artistic team and the determination of the entire staff, we will have our
concert. Like many other people affected by the pandemic, we are taking it online.

This is a very unique experience for us – going online for the first time. I have never witnessed so
many meetings (on-line and physical) being carried out in such a short time, to try to sort out the
many challenges and uncertainties. I am truly very grateful to everyone involved.
Mr Lee Kow Fong, a renowned writer and illustrator came to support Creative O’s children in
2017 when they were exploring story and illustration. We are most grateful to him for taking time
off to grace our graduation ceremony during this pandemic period.

What did I learn in this special year? The many challenges that I have encountered have made
me re-think our usual practices and the way we work. The biggest gain is in the shifting of
mindset - from often thinking something is impossible to realising that it is actually possible if
we try, from IT aloofness to reluctantly learning it and eventually accepting it as a way of life,
        especially from now onwards.
I wish all parents an enjoyable and appreciative time watching the concert items put up by the
children. I would also like to thank all the children for putting in their best effort despite the
difficulty of wearing masks for all practices and rehearsals.

Last but not least, wishing all K2 children to continue to handle all challenges ahead with
confidence and courage, just as they did during their Graduation Camp!

                                                                   Tan Beng Luan
                                                                       Principal
