ENGINES AT STOP LIGHTS?
Have you ever found yourself
waiting at a stoplight, only to
hear the unmistakable roar of
a motorcycle engine revving
nearby? If you're like most
drivers, your first instinct
might be to roll your eyes or
sigh in annoyance.
But then, a curiosity might
strike: why do motorcyclists
rev their engines at
stoplights?
Is it a mechanical necessity, or
is it purely for show?
As it turns out, the answer
lies somewhere between the
two. Revving at stoplights is a
behavior rooted in both
mechanical needs and social
habits, with a dash of
personal expression thrown
in.
