Washrooms and Toilets/ 2
Tasks
Toilets and urinals
10 Scrub inside bowls and urinals with toilet brush, particularly any stains, water lines
and under rims.
11 Flush toilets, rinsing brush in toilet water.
12 Wipe brush holder and replace brush in holder.
13 Dry toilet seats then close lids.
Wash Hand Basins
14 With colour coded cloth wrung out in cleaning solution, wipe ledges, pipes,
waste bin, and underneath the basin, working from clean to dirty areas.
15 Remove any objects, e.g. soap from basin.
16 Remove any hair or other items from the plug, plughole and plug chain with
tweezers.
17 Wipe inside of bowl, including plug, plug chain, taps and overflow.
18 With running tap water, rinse basin thoroughly, swilling water into the overflow.
Clean overflow with bottle brush.
19 Wring out cloth and polish stainless steel or chrome.
Washroom Furniture
20 Clean mirrors and polish dry.
21 Clean dispensers, bins and hand dryers.
23 Vanity Units Surfaces and Tops, Tiles, Doors and Cubicles
24 Steam clean / hand clean and wipe dry. See separate sheet for steam cleaning.
General Finishing
25 Clean equipment and check for safety.
26 Return equipment, materials and warning signs to vehicle, and close ventilation
if appropriate.
