Important points to remember -

• When you open the bidding you have shown between 10 and 20
points. It will only be 10 or 11 when you are very distributional
and all your points are in your long suits. So, usually you will be
12-19 points.
• When you open the bidding you make a promise that if partner
bids a new suit you will bid again.
• When you rebid you will try to narrow your range of points.
• If you can narrow the range of points so that has only a very small
range the bid is now said to be “limited”.
• When you open the bidding you are showing at least 4 cards in the
suit that you bid, if you rebid a new suit you will, nearly always,
have 5 or more cards in your first suit and 4 or more in your
second suit.
