Abstract




               Nowadays, desalinate of salty water had become a necessary industrial process to
               overcome the next global crisis of leakage in freshwater, one of the keys to water

               desalination is multi-stage flash (MSF) which is a thermal distillation technique that
               has a large contribution to the production of freshwater.

               The  present  project  is  made  on  the  Al-Khafji  multi-stage  flash  plant,  which  is
               existing in Saudi Arabia in order to increase the plant efficiency and to produce more
               freshwater than the original one which is our objective in this project. the method
               that we been used to achieving these goals was by adding a reheat solar collector

               cycle (RSCC) in the present plant, in order to use the brine water as feedwater for
               our cycle instead of throwing it back. It contains 2041 LS-2 (PTC)  in 8 Hectare to
               achieved  eh  required  energy.  The  result  that  we  got  after  adding  our  cycle  was
               satisfied, the steam production was increased from 184000 to 198000 kg/hr around
               7.7% (faster production ) and the gain output ratio (GOR) was increased from 7.8 to

               8.4 (efficiency increased), so the objective for the present project was successfully
               achieved.

               Our next move will be using the RSCC in the Gulf of Aqaba in our country Jordan
               which  location  is  regarded  as  one  of  the  sun-belt  states  in  order  to  increase  the
               production of freshwater and to open the door for solar water desalination in our
               Kingdom .
