"It was a privilege to serve as AASBO President
during the time we hired Brian as Executive Director,
a decision that turned out to be one of the most
meaningful and impactful moments of my tenure.
Hiring an Executive Director wasn’t something I
anticipated when I joined the board, but looking back,
I believe it was divine timing that brought Brian to us.
Shortly after learning we needed to begin the search,
I crossed paths with Brian at an ASBO International
conference. The moment I saw him, I just knew he
was the right person for the role. It was a job I had
always sensed he was meant for. When I mentioned
the position, he flashed that unforgettable smile and
said, “I know!” A few months later, we had the honor
of officially hiring him. "Brian, many people come in and out of our journey
Brian led AASBO with passion, dedication, and that through life but few leave a real impact, you did that
signature positivity that made every interaction with in mine. I feel so very blessed to have been a part
him uplifting. What I’ll miss most is his smile. It was of yours and I will carry you with me for the rest of
radiant, genuine, and ever-present. I never saw Brian mine."
in a bad mood. It simply wasn’t in his nature. He had -Linda Virgil, Peoria Unified School District
an incredible gift for brightening the day of everyone
          around him.
Beyond his professional excellence, Brian was a
mentor, a spiritual encourager, and a true friend.
He had a beautiful tradition of sending out daily
scriptures, sometimes offering simple inspiration and
other times providing wisdom that spoke directly
to the heart. Those messages became cherished
          moments for many, including me.
His absence is profoundly felt, and reconciling it is
still difficult. Brian made AASBO better, enriched
the lives of so many, and will forever be remembered
not only as a remarkable leader but as a friend whose
light touched us all. I miss his texts, I miss his smile,
          and I miss him deeply."
-Jill Barragan, Paradise Valley Unified School
          District & Past President

           "It requires hard work, determination,
and the willingness to improve oneself
           continuously."
