Honorable Mentions: Outstanding Contributions to Education

        These professionals may not have received the top award, but their efforts exemplify creativity,
        leadership, and service to Arizona public education:
        •  Ms. Lori Bomar, Administrator/Grant Writer, Model Creek School
            Built strong partnerships with local businesses and organizations to meet students' needs and enhance
            the local community.
        •  Mr. Davis Saenz, Ms Michele Lowe, & Ms. Deb Harrison, Mesa Public Schools
            Developed the Custodial Arts Resource Training System (CARTS) to provide neurodiverse high
            school students with year-round, hands-on custodial training.
        •  Mr. Cory Alexander, Director of Child Nutrition, Osborn School District
            Led efforts to educate students and families on food growth and conservation through programs like
            the Blue Watermelon Project.
        •  Mr. Ken Hicks, CFO, Tolleson Union High School District
            Demonstrated district collaboration by coordinating a $25 million loan to support Isaac Elementary
            School District's cash flow and payroll needs.
        •  Mr. Bill Munch, Director of Procurement Compliance and Training, Valley Schools Management
            Group
            Recognized for ongoing leadership and professional development support for procurement
            professionals throughout the state.
        •  Ms. Sarah Moreno, Procurement Technician, Agua Fria Union High School District
            Praised for her problem-solving, commitment to learning, and collaborative spirit within the complex
            world of school procurement.
        •  Ms. Laura Szymanoski, Retired Director of Purchasing, Deer Valley Unified School District
            Acknowledged for her continued training and mentorship support, even in retirement.
        •  Mr. Mark Sikora, A/C Technician, Wilson School District
            Goes above and beyond in service of students – including earning a bus driver certification to fill in
            wherever help is needed.

        Whether they're  mentoring staff, modernizing systems, or simply  stepping  up  to  meet a  need,  these
        professionals are proof that school business and support services play a vital role in student success.
