Will 2017 be a turning point for nature conservation in Canada?

 BY ALISON WOODLEY

N ature provides the air that we breathe, the water we
drink, the food we eat, and the materials we use in
all aspects of our lives. It helps mitigate the effects of
climate change, and is an integral part of our collective
Canadian soul. Yet here, as in the rest of the world, the health of
our natural world is in decline.
But there’s hope. The stars are aligning in 2017 to launch a new,
ambitious agenda for protecting Canada’s land, freshwater, and
    ocean.
