LEND ME THREE LOAVES The person that received a visitor in this parable went to seek from the Lord, so to speak, the fulfilment of the needs of his visitor exclusively. This person took up the responsibility to intercede for the needs of his friend to be met. He wanted to be a blessing to his friend and committed himself to seek by prayer what his friend required. In this parable, Jesus showed that we must take up the responsibility to pray to God that the needs of others (that are obvious to us) should be met. Indeed, He showed that when we pray to God to bless us so that we can be a blessing, He answers speedily. Do you remember that God made it very clear to Abraham that He was going to bless Him so that He could be a blessing to others? Genesis 12:1-3 NKJV Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. \[2\] I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. \[3\] I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 107.
