and a Whole Lot of Pride
Carlos Sosa, Family Law Section: turning
complexity into clarity. He shows that even
the trickiest situations can be organized
and solvable.
Amity Bjork, Criminal Law Section: calm
in the chaos. Amity brings clarity and
perspective when we’re spinning, keeping
us grounded, focused, and sometimes
reminding us that deep breaths are
underrated.
Desiree Hosannah, Pierce County
Minority Bar Association: fearless,
challenging, essential. Desiree pushes us to
be bolder, braver, and more inclusive.
Christy McKinley, Pierce County WA
Women Lawyers: grit, grace, no apologies.
Christy reminds us that equity is non-
negotiable.
John Cummings, QLaw: representation
isn’t optional; it’s everything. John proves
that true representation is the backbone of
our work. He ensures every voice matters,
every perspective is considered, and every
decision is grounded in justice.
The Heart of the Bar
Members who spoke with me, shared their
stories, and fought for their committees
and communities reminded me why the
Bar matters. You brought humanity to the
profession, challenged me to go deeper, and
inspired me to create spaces where lawyers and
clients could thrive.
To everyone who helped me, challenged me,
laughed with me, and occasionally made me
squirm, thank you. You made me a better
human, a better leader, and proved that growth
happens outside the comfort zone.

Your Turn: Get Involved
This is your community. Volunteer. Join a committee. Say yes to
something new. With Nina at the helm of this incredible board, the
TPCBA is heading into a year of positivity, inclusion, and excitement.
With Gratitude as I Pass the Torch
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for helping the TPCBA grow and for humoring my raffle
basket dreams.
Thank you for making space for me to grow along the way.
Here’s to Nina, our unstoppable Momentum Maven.
Here’s to the Board, my collaborators, anchors, and comic relief squad.
Here’s to the liaisons, our conscience, mentors, and champions.
Here’s to the underrated and quietly brilliant, but absolutely
unstoppable legal professionals in Pierce County. You inspire me, and
your contributions matter more than you know.
And here’s to all of our TPCBA members who made the bar
exceptional, courageous, and human.
With glitter in the gears, energy in the air, and opportunities all around,
I look forward to seeing you at board meetings, Lincoln Day, CLEs,
committee meetings and, of course, the next bar convention. Jump in,
hold on tight, and let’s have some fun while we do it!
