THE HAUGTHY ELEPHANT
The fox returned to the Elephant and sat beside
him.
“What happened?” asked the elephant. “Why are
you not laughing this time?”
The fox cleared his throat. “Mr. Elephant, I can’t
describe how big the person who had muddied the
stream is, but you must look at this fur for yourself.”
The elephant snatched the quill and stared at it for
a while. He began to shiver. “Who is this guy?”
“I can’t describe it to you, Mr. Elephant. Why
don’t you go and see it for yourself?”
“Oh, no!” He waddled out of the water and
hobbled into the forest, trumpeting loudly. He never
visited the stream ever again.
