               Angler’s  angler,  spoken-word  poet,  television  personality,  flats-boat
               designer,  all-around  nice  guy,  and  teacher  by  nature,  Flip  Pallot  has
               acquired, through decades of fishing, an encyclopedic knowledge of what
               works. The following conversation occurred in a steady stream, with nary

               an  interruption  from  me,  simply  my  acknowledgements  that  Flip  was
               speaking angling gospel. I got to know Flip when he wrote for Fly Fishing
               in Salt Waters  magazine  in  the  1990s.  Enjoy  this,  and  apply  it  to  your
               fishing.
                  “Knots all depend on what’s needed for the fishing situation, and for me
               that’s 90 percent fly fishing. Everyone has a terminal knot that they use to
               tie on the lure or fly, and I use two—probably the same two that 80 or 90
