While the other has to fight the Disguised Army, hailing from the north.

The old man, whom they both call the Grand Master, sorts the farmer's crops so
that the farmer only has fruits of his own labour.

The Grand Master proclaims himself as pure "justice", and is as the covenant's tie.

For he who puts forth obstacles to obstruct the work of the Grand Master hindering
his act, his deed must be judged in hell.

A mandrake is given to the farmer, and shall be the witness of the covenant

between the brotherhood and the Grand Master, making them keep their part.
We swear by the bond of blood that nothing must separate us from the allegiance

we each swore to one another.
                     Grand Master.

Tom quietly puts the letter back in the envelope again, and for a while they sit in
                   silence, looking at the box.

“That was quite bleak, what you just read. I’ll be glad that you take it with you. I

don’t like it. My family and me have suffered enough. If at some point something
positive comes out of this, then of course, I would like to know, but as it is now, I

think it’s the best that you take it all."
Tom gets up and smiles at her and says, “I understand. I have a storeroom for it

while the investigation is pending. I don't think I have any further information to

give you at this moment. I wouldn’t want to expose your family to more either.
Those letters wouldn’t do any good for the kids. I’ll contact you if something

                   positive comes up."

“Yes, thank you, my kids are everything. It’s been nice to meet you, and it
actually feels like a relief to get the jewellery box out of my life. "

"Well, thank you too. We’ll be in touch."

Tom gets up and says his goodbye. They are both still a bit shocked with the
content of the letter, which most of all reminds him of a curse. He can tell from

the look on her face, that she is not well.

"Don’t worry, I’ll find the door myself."
As the door is closed behind him to the villa, he stands for a moment and

ponders, watching the snowfall, which has now completely covered the garden in
