Chapter 13
The hunt for Gustav Kräsen
Five days later
In secret, a small private chartered aircraft is preparing for take-off from Kastrup
Airport. It is 6:30 am on Sunday, February 11. The mist lies like a heavy quilt
over the entire landing area. Officially, the aircraft's guest list is five business
people who are going on business visits.
Bjørn has tremendously drawn on his connections both within The Hunters
Squad known as Jægerkorpset and Interpol, the last few days he has worked 24
hours to find a method so that his special team of top agents can carry out
operation Kräsen. The big man had spoken to the team the night before at a
secret location in one of the Jægerkorpset’s locations in Farum instead of the
usual meetings at his place.
“I know we have the best special unit in the world. Why? It’s because we are
constantly testing our own boundaries. Now we have to solve a task within the
timespan 36 hours and 8 minutes - in another country. This is the all time and
space we have available,” as The Bear finished roaring out his speech.
“It is the art of the impossible that we must now achieve. The EU summit on
Friday and the series of major official events following the rest of the calendar
year, such as the German state elections, will make operations such as the one
we are now executing virtually impossible. We now know from secret
intelligence that on Wednesday the Germans are embarking on a huge security
upgrade to counter the threat they face and to raise the security of national and
international guests. We can expect it to be impossible for us to operate in
Germany with a mission like this for the rest of the year,
a situation we obviously cannot live with, seen in light of what has happened. "
He had then dazzled the overhead screen. "That's what the plan looks like."
