what you know about Dieter." He takes out his wallet and gets ready to take

                   notes.
"I knew that much, and I was prepared for the fact that we had to get in

depth with him as a person,” she says, looking serious.

“Unfortunately, you can see the situation in Denmark right now. So I need
every detail,” says Tom looking equally as serious.

“Yes, Dieter Stormann and I were engaged for four years before he took

over the management of the company. When he started, he acted as a kind of
branch manager, and I met him for the first time when he was in Denmark as a

representative. My father, Wholesaler Holm, and The old Mr. Walther Stormann
were business partners. Walther Stormann provided rare cheeses and wines to

Denmark, which my father bought and distributed all across Denmark – with a

big profit. Then, at some point my father and Walther decided that I should try
my German skills, take some time abroad. And well-” She interrupts herself.

“Now, I should probably make the story short but it so happens that

Dieter Stormann and I fell in love during my stay in Germany, and I ended up
                   moving in with him and got engaged. I studied at the University of Hamburg;

everything was rosy. But later l I was offered a scholarship in America, and so
everything started to turn. He broke off the engagement because I accepted the

scholarship. And let me be honest, I was probably a bit of a rebel at that point

saying yes to that. I have since then regretted my choice over and over again."
Tom nods as he’s taking notes. "Yeah. That sounds tough."

“I discovered, way too late, that I was pregnant and did not tell Dieter

anything about the pregnancy, so when my son was born, I made sure some
wonderful people adopted him. It was something my mother and doctor

arranged for me. The situation was sorted just mere days before I went to the

States. I got married shortly after my arrival. You know, I was looking for
stability and security at that point."

While she is talking, he notes all the details. Some people prefer this, then

to be recorded, makes them more comfortable.
“So that means Dieter and you have not had any contact since then?" He

                   asks.
