The General Lieutenant loosened his grip, looking at his swap lying on the floor
without moving for half a minute. Then the young soldier came to his senses
again and tried to crawl towards the door. With a fierce shudder, Jürgen Hahn
grabbed Peter Eberhardt's hair, lifted his head and yelled in full force:
"You are the most ungrateful insect I have ever encountered in my life, you horny
devil. He grabbed a new bottle with his free hand.
Peter Eberhardt collapsed on the floor, crumbled into a foster position and with
all his effort, tried to protect his head with his hands. Jürgen Hahn hit the young
man's head with the tip of his booty knot. The following kick hit the soldier's
kidney.
"Now you will learn how to behave orderly. You’ve done this to yourself" he
yelled out of the trailer.
If Peter was unconscious when his four front teeth were got smashed in, as he
pushed the mouthpiece of a gun into the young soldier’s mouth, Hahn wasn’t
aware. Nor did he care.
There was a short and hollow boom as the gun went off and the recoil passed
through the cerebral cortex and pierced itself into the floor.
"That little whore. He had it coming."
In the last few hours, Jürgen Hahn repeated the sentence several times, while he
had dragged the bloody body of his former adjudicator down to the river running
near the camp. Another body – who cares.
Jürgen Hahn was now on all fours, as he roamed around under the bunk
bed after an extra bottle of whiskey he took yesterday. He lost his balance and
tumbled on the floor coughing. Exhaustion was about to overpower him.
Despite his big layer of fat and the amount of alcohol in the blood, he was
almost paralyzed with cold on the way down to the river. Falling several into the
snow with the lifeless body in his arms, and the frost was about to end him.
Wouldn’t have recovered if he kept on falling. His strength was diminishing.
Finally he caught the bottle with the tip of the glove. The pompous winter palace
with gold and precious paintings popped up in his head as the last thing before
falling asleep.
