                    1         Turn the outer yarns of the rope down out of   3    apply three or four turns of marline or other

                                                                                  does not fray. if you use an odd number of warp
                                                                                  cords you will not need to alternate the upper
                                                                                  and lower yarns.













                      2        Using a knife, either scrape or cut away only the


                               inner yarns to a taper and cover with canvas or
                               friction tape, as here.
