Welcome
Seth Smith!
Golf Course Superintendent
Hometown: Forrest City, AR
College: University of Arkansas
Major: Bachelor of Science
Horticulture, Landscape and Turf Science
My intrigue with finely manicured turf originated from attending St. Louis
Cardinals baseball games at Busch Stadium as a kid.
I ultimately decided to pursue golf course management and interned at TPC
Southwind, where I worked my first PGA Tour tournament, the FedEx St. Jude
Classic. Upon graduation, I was hired at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock,
AR, where I experienced a bunker and tree renovation on 9 holes of the property. I
transitioned to Dallas to be involved with the brand new construction and grow-in
of Trinity Forest Golf Club. From there, I moved over to Royal Oaks Country Club
where I have developed a relationship with golf course architect Chet Williams
through tee complex renovations and implementing his Golf Course Landscape
Masterplan. In this position, I have been able to focus on the big picture of golf
course management to prepare me for this opportunity with Corpus Christi
Country Club. I have now had the opportunity to volunteer for 9 PGA Tour
tournaments, including 3 majors, expanding my network while developing solid
industry relationships.
Hobbies: I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy playing
golf, tennis, hunting, and fishing. I’m very excited to make Corpus Christi home
and get to know the membership. I’m very thankful for the opportunity and can’t
wait to jump right in and contribute on August 16.
