                                          “Byeongchon Evangelical Holiness Church”
                                           -The faith of 66 people even unto death


                                               The Byeongchon Evangelical Holiness
                                               Church suffered during the Korean War.
                                               The communist forces, which became
                                               disadvantageous after landing of the UN

 leading city where electricity was introduced first. Ganggyeong Evangelical Holiness Church
                                               monument to the martyrs in the church
 was established here in 1918. Evangelist Jeong Dalseong, who graduated from Gyeongseong
                                               garden.
 Bible School (currently Seoul Theological University) , came down to this place where the Methodist
 Church was strong and started the Evangelical Holiness Church.
 Four months after the church began, the March 1st Movement took place, and Rev. John
 Thomas of the Oriental Missionary Society was beaten by Japanese police after coming
 down to Ganggyeong. Rev. John Thomas left Korea because of the event, and the British
 minister filed a lawsuit on his behalf and won. With the compensation received, the
 Ganggyeong Evangelical Holiness Church was built. However, this chapel is currently
 owned by Ganggyeong Bugok Methodist Church. Ganggyeong Evangelical Holiness Church
 is famous for being the first church to refuse to worship the shrine. The reason why 57
