The family took Jasper home and with his help Emma slowly learned
to walk again. She put one hand on Jasper and used her other hand
to hold a crutch. It was difficult but every day, Emma walked a
little more. Soon she started to walk with no crutches using Jasper
to help her.
These days Emma and Jasper are always together. Jasper even goes
to school with Emma. When she is reading or writing Jasper sleeps
under her desk.
Last week there was a surprise for Jasper and Emma. A magazine gave Jasper
a big prize - The Best Animal of the Year! The next day, the story about the — E BEST A N iM ALOFTHEYFAP
little girl and the big dog was in all the newspapers.
Look!’ Emma said to Jasper. ‘You are now the most famous dog in the world!
Jasper looked at Emma. Then he put his paw on her leg. She remembered
the first time she saw Jasper and smiled.
