Another leniency concerning a nursing woman fasting is cited by the Biur Halacha:

Biur Halacha
Pregnant and nursing woman must fast and complete the fast: And if the nursing woman has a sick child who
is in danger and the child doesn’t want to nurse from anyone other than her, and fasting will present a danger to
the child, she does not fast even on Yom Kippur (Be’er Heitev 618 citing the Devar Shmuel).
B) A WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH WITHIN THREE DAYS
According to the halacha, a woman who gave birth within three days is treated as being in danger, and therefore does not
fast at all.

Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 617:4
A yoledet (woman who has just given birth) within three days should not fast at all. Between three and seven
days – if she says that she needs to – we feed her. After that she is similar to any regular person. These days are
not counted from time to time [i.e., twenty-four hour periods], such as if she gave birth on the seventh of Tishrei
at night, we do not feed her on Yom Kippur unless she says she needs it, even though three days have not passed
until the eve of Yom Kippur, for since she has entered into the fourth day since her birth [during Yom Kippur],
she is in the category of after three days.
