HORIZON, 2020-21
Do you hear the pumping oceans, Like
filled chest it rises
And falls like leaves.
What wonders water beneath stirs?
What tristful time behind leers?
A chirp,
From a bird coloured by my mind,
Is it one amongst the sky,
Or in earthy nest lies.
A deafening roar.
One of lion or tiger unknown,
Oh what injustice may thee be,
To hear beauty but beauty unseen. Am I
right to judge what lies beyond So
uncertain can I be?
Bereft of beauty’s tapestry,
Will my mind sculpt a beauty
Akin to the beauty grey walls beyond.
For my wonders can’t stand to the
wonders of god,
To shape earth herself, to scatter life
and soul
