A glimmer of hope that swiftly spiraled out of

reach.

And the feeble flames we lit have died out What

started with sparks has ended in smoke, And all

that's left of that dazzling fantasy

Is my box of stolen chances that I still carry.

CRACKED SLATE

told me not to worry,

said you would change your faulty ways.
You said "Error is human

So, give me a chance, just one,

To start over on a clean slate."

But a slate can be scratched,
Some flaws go unpatched,

And this was a fatal mistake.

For this slate that we have shared

It is severely cracked
And my chalks cannot fix its fate.

Leave me be, please let me mourn
