Little did i know that, the
Change that awaited us
Was nothing short of bizarre
I remembered clear as day
Being taught as a child that
“Together we always achieve more”
On my ivory desk back at
Home, lay my unfinished
Essay titled,
‘Whatever must be humanity’s
Undivided core?’
Six months ago,
As i stepped out my door
I saw a word i had never seen before
Empty lanes, lone vehicles and silent roads
The city girl in me was seemingly at odds The
once crowded sea shore
Is now emptier than it ever
Has been before.
A global pandemic coupled
With weakening bonds,
6 feet apart only furthered
The wrong.
India- a land of diversity,
I had learned year after year
However, now all i see are
Confusion and fear
A deadly virus invading our lives ,
Amongst all the hate crimes.
