during the Summer Feeding Program, teaching Bible class in the absence of the teacher,
and leading devotion during Sunday school and youth services. Jalani plans to attend
Tuskegee University and major in mechanical engineering.

Jalani has been playing the piano for ten years and has performed in numerous recitals.
In his spare time, he likes to read his Bible and solve Rubik’s cubes. He is the 17-year-
old son of Dr. Ladonna Wyatt-Eanochs and the older brother of Malaja Eanochs.

I am a native of Natchez, MS and proud daughter of Donenika Gaylor and Termayne
Proby, Sr. I am the granddaughter of Constance and Arthur Woods, Rosalie and the late
Charles Edward Hoskins. I currently attend the First Pentecostal Church in Natchez, MS,
and has been a faithful member since 2012. I am a 2020 Natchez High School graduate
and played on the girls’ basketball team. During my time playing ball, I was a dedicated
player, always made great choices and always succeed. I am really excited to have
graduated from high school with honors.

My journey will begin at Hinds Community College, fall of 2020, where my plans are to
study Culinary Art and become a world-renowned chef. This has been my dream, since
I was a little girl and I have always known it would be a fulfilling challenge. My most
accomplished moment is receiving a Susie B. White Scholarship, receiving it is a blessing
and an honor. A favorite quote I often make is from Shonda Rhimes “Dreams are lovely.
But they are just dreams. Fleeting, ephemeral, pretty. But dreams do not come true just
because you dream them. It's hard work that makes things happen. It's hard work that
                creates change.”

My plans are to one day own my own restaurant and encourage others to never give up
on making their dream a reality. I am honored to have been chosen to receive the 2020
Keri Culley Encouragement Award (a Susie B. White scholarship award). I will use this
award with great pride. My grandmother Rosalie Hoskins, who has been a member of
St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church for over 20 years is proud of me, she would always
say “Trust in the Lord”. This scholarship will help with finances and give me that push to
move forward and accomplish my goals.
