Hello, my name is Kiera Simone’ Johnson. I am the daughter of Kesha and Walter
Johnson Jr. I originally started my college education at Alcorn State University (ASU).
After two years of attending ASU I transferred to The University of Southern Mississippi
where I am currently pursing my bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
I plan to graduate in 2021 and go back to receive my master’s degree in Social Work. I
plan to work in a hospital setting, and in the future open my own mental health clinic. I
would like to thank my family as well as the Susie B. White scholarship foundation for
helping me pave a way and making it possible for me to attend college.

Darrius attended Copiah Lincoln community college after graduating from high school.
He works for Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS).

Greetings, my name is Jalia Tarleton, I am a junior at Alcorn State University majoring in
Social Work. I have had the opportunity to join the Social Work Club and the Purpose
Community Service Organization. In joining these organizations, I have gained many new
friendships, some have become like family. In these organizations we do a multitude of
