Science in Biology (with an emphasis on Health Science). By selecting this route, she
was able to study human health, its behavior, and how the body responds to its
environment. Throughout her tenure, Raven was involved in various clubs and
organizations around campus that instilled leadership, confidence, community service,
networking, and, most importantly, instilling “keys” to becoming a successful, well-
rounded student. These activities include Beta Beta Beta “Tri-Beta” National Science
Honor Society, Biology Club, Honor Student Organization, First Year Experience Student
Leadership, Gospel Choir, Student Union Activities Board, Sigma Alpha Pi National
Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Chi Iota Academic Honor Society, and the
NAACP. After four long - challenging yet molding years, she reached the first goal line, of
many, and graduated Cum Laude with keenness and preparedness to endure my next
                hurdle.

In the fall of 2018, Raven began her next journey as a public health student. Her
awakening to the field of public health began when she saw the chance to potentially
make contributions that could change medicine that had the power to increase life-
expectancies, reduce contraction of many forms of infectious diseases, and to bridge the
barriers between patient and doctor communication. In selecting her next step, she
desired a program that would satisfy both her career aspirations and goals while allowing
community volunteerism and interaction. Through Morehouse School of Medicine’s
Master of Public Health Program, she was able to do that. Upon completion of her degree
in May of 2020, she will have volunteered over 200 community service hours, 360 hours
of applied practicum experience, program evaluation experience, and a community
partnership with Neighborhood Planning Unit-V of Atlanta, GA. While at MSM, she serves
on the Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair at West End Mall, a member of the
American Sign Language and Deaf Culture Student Interest Group, while maintaining full-
time employment. She also is a recipient of the Sela and Arthur Collins Master of Public
Health Honors Scholarship and the Morehouse School of Medicine Institutional Merit
                Scholarship.

After graduation in May of 2020, Raven plans to begin Pharmacy school to become a
Public Health Pharmacist. As a Public Health Pharmacist and as a potential role model
to her family and peers, Raven will strive to assess and address current health disparities
and inequities, develop plans for accessibility to and management of prescription
medication, while always providing quality care.

With the support from the Susie B. White Scholarship, Raven was not only able to meet
her goals, but EXCEED them. The continued generosity expressed through the Susie B.
White Scholarship is not only appreciated, but it is admirable. As a former recipient, Raven
is thankful and grateful to have received this scholarship and plans to continue to make
her dream a reality while incorporating the principles of a Susie B. White scholar. THANK
                YOU!
