Amtrak Wilmington Station Renovation and Restoration


            Owner/User: National Railroad Corporation            historic Wilmington Station. Improvements included

            Design Statement: Originally designed in 1905 by     to  provide improved function for  Amtrak  operations,
            Frank  Furness, the  renowned  Philadelphia  architect  who   increased space for lease to private retail tenants, and the
            designed some of America’s greatest railroad stations, the   restoration of all of the remaining historic portions of the
            Wilmington Station was Furness’s last great station design   station interior which were hidden behind previous office
            and the only one of his large urban stations that is still   additions.
