Design Statement: Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School is an
independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for students
of all faiths who cannot otherwise afford a private education.
Serving as Associate Architect, Bernardon provided conceptual
design services, owner advisory services, and architectural
design of the Sanctuary.

As the heart of its new home, Cristo Rey Philadelphia High
School decided to create a sacred space that would reflect what it
means to be a Catholic school for students of all faiths.

At the core of Cristo Rey’s mission is the belief that men and
women of all races and all religions share a special human
dignity, and that we are committed to love and to serve everyone.
Students are encouraged to not only explore and express their in mind, Bernardon worked closely with the Cristo Rey design
