Design Statement: Mount Saint Joseph Academy
communicated the need to relocate the school store to
increase awareness of the school resource and to provide
a destination shop for returning alumnae. Concerned
with the requested location in the back corner of a lower
level senior assembly room, Bernardon recommended
improvements to the assembly room in order to engage
the school store in the context of creating a more valuable
assembly amenity.
The improvements to the senior assembly room now boldly
proclaims the school’s mission and creates a focal point
for major school announcements as well as a haven for
returning alumnae.
The school store has become an inviting and successful
retail operation that welcomes all students from the
adjacent room and main corridor.
