Riddle Village Dining Venue
Owner/User: Riddle Village Retirement Community
Location: Media, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Riddle Village had a very clear vision
in mind when they sought to redesign and renovate their
formal dining room: preserve the Colonial aesthetic
of the current space. Yet, they still wanted to achieve
a transformation that would impress current and
prospective residents, staff, and visitors. The full scope of
the project included the Governour’s Inne, the adjoining
Chesapeake Room, and the nearby elevator lobby.
The design solution was the mix of two styles that
traditionally do not mix: modern and traditional. The
Contemporary Colonial style that was created features
floating faux wood ceilings, wood trellises, and decorative lobby introduced a sense of openness and connection.
