The Highlands at Wyomissing
Location: Wyomissing, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Bernardon designed the original
361,000 SF facility which consisted of 211 apartment units, a
46,000 SF Community Center, 35-bed assisted living facility,
and a 60-bed skilled intermediate nursing unit.
Bernardon was then retained many years later to provide
architecture and interior design services for renovations
and additions to the Community Center core building.
Renovations totaled approximately 47,000 SF, including
administrative offices, additional meeting and activity
rooms, enhanced health and wellness services, expanded
resident activity and service areas, and new dining services
venues.
Subsequent additions totaling approximately 23,500 SF were
also added, including a new cultural center, administrative
offices, and further expanded service areas.
