Hon. Josephine Connolly hails from the island of Salt Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands.
In 2004, Hon. Connolly attended the University of Central Lancashire, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management and Politics and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management.
In 2012, she was elected as one of the five all- island members of the House of Assembly and, subsequently, elected as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly. In 2016, she was elected as an all-island member, and again in 2021, when she was appointed Minister of Tourism.
Hon. Connolly continues to be active in assisting her community, both through her charitable activities as a volunteer with the Cancer Society and as the organizer of “In the Pink,” among other community engagements.
Hon. Connolly has been married for thirty years
and has two adult children. She is president of the Girl Guides Association, patron of the Soroptimists, a member of the Turks and Caicos Real Estate Association (TCREA), and a member of the
Certified Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD).
In September 2022, Hon. Connolly was elected to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Executive Committee as the Deputy Chairman for the British Overseas Territories for a tenure of two years.
Honorable Connolly remains engaged and committed to the economic development of the Turks and Caicos Islands and to enhancing the lives, wealth, health, and continued safety of its people and those who have made TCI their home. She orchestrated systems and programs aimed at advancing the economic resilience and empowerment of the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands with regard to various global perils to which the country is exposed.
She currently holds the portfolio of Minister of Tourism, Environment, Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Culture and Heritage, Agriculture, and Religious Affffairs.
