landing stations Mersing are ready for System.
services in 1995 with Malaysian Domestic
Submarine Cable System Southern Link
(MDSCS-MDS) as its first connecting to
Cherating and connecting from
Peninsular Malaysia to Borneo via
Kuching in Sarawak.

South East Asia – Middle East –
Western Europe 3

Moving onwards Mersing has become the
Malaysia southern station to connect with
the world with South East Asia-Middle
East-Western Europe 3 (SMWE3) in
1999, Asia American Getaway (AAG) in
2009, Asia Submarine-cable Express/
Cahaya Malaysia (ASE/CM) in 2012 and
the latest are SKRM in 2017.
