3. Students must avoid making noise in the hospital or other RLE venues.
4. Combing of hair and doing make up should be done inside the rest room. Never in the hospital
corridor or in public.
5. Students are expected to render total nursing care and to stay with their patients as much as
possible. Students found sitting in their area doing nothing or doing other things not related to their
duty should be dealt with accordingly.
6. Friends, girlfriends/boyfriends and relatives of students are not allowed to be entertained in the
area except on extreme emergency. Students must ask permission first from their Clinical Instructor
before entertaining their visitors.
7. Students are given meal time breaks depending upon their RLE hours as follows:
a. 4 hours duty-------------------------30 minutes break
b. 6 hours duty-------------------------40 minutes break
c. 8 hours duty-------------------------15 minutes for snacks and 30 minutes for
lunch/dinner
8. Going out of the hospital or community during duty hours is not allowed. The CI the school shall
not be held responsible or liable for untoward incidents that may occur to a student who goes out
without permission.
9. Use of cellular phones while on duty is prohibited.
Misdemeanors
1. Leaving the area without permission or proper endorsement by authorized persons.
2. Writing false or incorrect entries on the patient’s chart.
3. Reporting for make-up duty without proper endorsement.
4. Loitering in the clinical area and engaging in vandalism or gambling
5. Sleeping while on duty.
6. Reporting to duty under the influence of alcohol or prohibited drugs.
7. Drinking or smoking while on duty.
8. Disrespect to Clinical Instructors, Patients and their Guests, classmates, and Hospital Staff
9. Carrying deadly weapons.
GUIDELINES FOR NURSING RESEARCH RLE
1. Selection of Adviser, Statistician and English Critic
In the selection adviser and statistician for research, the students are given the freedom to choose
his/her (their) statistician, however the adviser will be taken from the faculty of the College of Nursing
on a first come first served basis. The student should select his/her adviser and statistician as early
as in the proposal writing stage. The student must note that the adviser and statistician should be
the person, he/she is comfortable working with and has expertise and competency on the research
topic.
The student submits to the Research Coordinator a separate letter of request for adviser and
statistician. The chosen adviser and statistician will receive an official letter from the research
Coordinator noted by the Dean of the college of nursing of the assignment. A duplicate copy of the
letter with the confirmation of the adviser and statistician will be furnished to the student.
