                 GENERAL DEFINITION OF TERMS

                        Action Plan/Treatment plan – the plan of action to mitigate risks and take advantage
                        of opportunities.
                        Certification - means that an organization has demonstrated the following: Follows
                        the guidelines of the ISO 9001 standard. Fulfills its own requirements. Meets customer
                        requirements and statutory and regulatory requirements. Maintains documentation.

                        Conformity  (C)  -  fulfillment  of  a  requirement,  i.e.,  College/University  policy,
                        documented  procedure,  statutory  and  regulatory  requirements  as  well  as  client
                        requirements.

                        Control  –  any measure or action that directs or influences the process toward
                        effectiveness  and  efficiency;  includes  any  policy,  procedure,  practice,  process,
                        technology, device or method that modifies or manages processes.

                        Corrective action – an action taken on a detected nonconformity to address the
                        system  failures  and  prevent  its  recurrence.  It  is  usually  recorded  in  a  Request  for
                        Action form.

                        Impact (as risk and opportunity criterion) – degree of impact of the identified risk or
                        opportunity to the attainment of the University’s objectives and enhancement of client
                        satisfaction, if not treated or pursued, respectively.

                        Likelihood (as risk and opportunity criterion) – the probability of occurrence of the
                        risk, when not addressed, or opportunity, when pursued.

                        Needs and expectations – the feelings, needs, and ideas that the stakeholders or
                        clients have towards specific products or services provided by the University.

                        Nonconformity (NC) –  non-fulfillment of a requirement based on standard, i.e.,
                        University policy, documented procedure, statutory, and regulatory requirements as
                        well as client requirements.

                        Office Performance Commitment Review (OPCR) – a performance evaluation tool
                        that all heads of offices accomplish; must officially identify and declare the targets for
                        the rating period and be in accordance with the overall strategy map and commitments
                        of the CSU.
