1. The defense committee is composed of registered nurses (RN) who has expertise in nursing
research. They should have atleast finished their graduate (MSN, MAN, or any related Allied
health such as MPH) or post graduate studies (PhD, PhDNS, DNM, DNS, DNP) regardless
of the major.
2. They critic the manuscript and incorporate suggestions for improvement.
3. Attends proposal and final oral defense.
4. The panel will be paid on the services they have rendered in a minimum of 500 and maximum
of 700 per panel that will be shouldered per group depends on the qualifications of the panel.
5. During defense, each group will be chaired by a 3 panelist. 1 chairman and two members.
6. The defense committee is composed of the three Panelist, Research Coordinator, Adviser
the NRES RLE instructor.
7. The panel will be chosen by the Research Coordinator and the Dean will approve the
proposed panelist.
8. Revamp during proposal will have to redefense their paper.
2. The English Critic
The editor is responsible for the checking of grammatical errors in the manuscript and
observance of the American Psychological Association (APA) format that must be observed in the
manuscript. Once the manuscript has been edited, the editor signs a certification declaring that the
paper has satisfactorily complied with the grammatical requirements and format as prescribed in
this manual. Should the editor feel that the requirements, as suggested by him/her were not met,
the certification should not be signed.
3. Statistician
a. The length of time allotted for the completion of the research is during the semester the
subject Nursing Research 1 & 2 is enrolled, the student has to complete the revisions and
suggestions of the panel.
b. Adviser and the student-researcher review the suggestions and revisions for further
improvement of the paper.
c. Student shows the corrected manuscript and the adviser approves corrections and revisions.
d. Student presents paper to the Research Professor for the assignment of Editor.
e. Student revises the manuscript and presents the edited manuscript to the Adviser and
Thesis Committee for the signature.
f. Student submits six (6) bounded manuscript duly signed by Adviser, English Critic,
Statistician, Research Coordinator, Dean, and the Registrar and soft copy (in word format)
stored in properly labelled CD-RW to the concerned Research Coordinator.
