Bryony: for Monmouthshire
‘Charlie’ the Sweet Chestnut is an ancient tree that is
a couple of miles from my house in Glangrwyney. We
have visited Charlie as a family since the children were
little and we all love to go and say hello to our old friend,
dipping his branches into the river that he stands guard
over! We estimate Charlie to be around 1,000 years old.
Fran: Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly
My favourite tree is the ‘Five Ways Tree’
at Margam Park, as there are so many
possibilities to routes for adventures!
Julie: Vale of Glamorgan and
Rhondda Cynon Taf
Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan has
always been one of my very favourite special
places, mainly because of the beautiful trees. It
always makes me feel good walking through the
woodlands there.
