Grades of Litter

Keep Wales Tidy carries out annual surveys in which
the amount of litter found on our streets is graded No litter or refuse.
using the Local Environmental Audit Management
System (LEAMS) methodology. This can be used to A GRADE
monitor trends and improvements in our local area as
well as identify hotspots for action.

No more than 3 small items of litter (7 x 9cm).

B+ GRADE

Prodominently free of litter and other refuse other than
some items.
B GRADE

Widespread distribution of litter and/or refuse with minor
accumulations. 6 - 8 larger items. Accumulations of small
CGRADE items of litter.

Heavily affected by litter and/or refuse with significant
accumulations. 12 or more larger items of litter.
D GRADE
