Cadoxton Primary School,
Vale of Glamorgan had an
ambitious plan to tackle
food poverty, address food
waste and support children in
becoming food literate.
Initially starting with excess
food from local supermarkets
donated to the school has
grown into a fantastic resource
for the community providing a ‘pay as you feel’ approach for families to
access nutritious food that might otherwise go to waste, at a fair price.
The ‘shop’ is run by pupils and parent volunteers from a brilliantly converted
shipping container, known as the Big Bocs Bwyd. For more information,
take a look at the school’s website here.
