Less Engaged School Progression
This year 1110 different schools have engaged with Keep Wales Tidy through one of the following
channels:
● Having an active Eco-Schools green flag award
● Attending a teacher training event
● Attending a pupil workshop
● Taking part in My Tree, Our Forest: for schools, a tree planting project
● Receiving a Local Places for Nature Package
● Being an active participant in the Litter Free Zones scheme
● Taking part in the Spring Clean Cymru campaign
Of the engaged schools, just
over 300 are non-green flag
schools. This engagement is
encouraging as it shows that
our provision, campaigns,
and activities are supporting
non-green flag schools in
their journey to become more
sustainable.
This initial engagement also
provides us with a great
opportunity to support these
schools in progressing towards
a green flag award. It is worth
noting that all schools that
achieved their first green
flag this year had previously
engaged with Keep Wales Tidy
via an event or campaign as
described above.
