What are the benefits?
Ysgol Bryn Hedydd in Denbighshire and Pentrebane Primary School in
Cardiff were just two of the schools that benefited from Local Places for
Nature food growing packages in 2022-23.
Staff at Bryn Hedydd were ‘thrilled’ with the new garden as it provided
opportunities for pupils to learn about nurturing plants and growing food
while also working collaboratively with peers and adults in the wider school
community.
“The garden means a tremendous amount to the community and work
has very quickly started on its development and growth. Children and
adults alike are actively participating in the maintenance of the site
and all those involved are taking a keen interest in its future.”
- Danielle Lee, Specialty Teacher at Pentrebane Primary
