Part funded by the Clean Seas partnership and partly undertaken as part of the secondary
resource development, we are thrilled to have developed a suite of resources that take an in Eco-Schools communications have promoted the programme through press and social media,
depth look at challenges and solutions for our oceans and encourage students to ‘Be The Wave’

of change. keeping a close eye on our performance through press monitoring and social media analytics.
We have also developed our website to be an engaging one-stop-shop for anyone involved with
      or interested in Eco-Schools.
Our Education staff have created a lesson plan,
background reading and lesson presentation These work alongside the resources written by
resource under each of these headings: Marine Conservation Society and edited by our Social Media
 • Marine Litter team covering: The Eco-Schools Wales social media channels When a social media post is seen by a person, it
is counted as an impression. Over the year, we
 • Plastic Pollution • Threats to the Ocean have developed over the year with the target earned over 314,500 impressions, 75% of these
 • Source to Sea • Sustainable Fishing of engaging better with our audience whilst impressions were earned over quarter three
 • Microfibres • Climate Change and the Oceans also reaching a wider audience. The overall and four.

 • Invisible Pollution • Ocean Biodiversity trajectory from all channels has been positive
 • Stop the Block • Ecosystem Services and the frequency of posting has increased. For
 • Circular Economy example, during quarter one we posted 50 times
across all channels whereas during quarter four
      we have posted 302 times.

We also have a set of three documents to support taking action and organising a clean-up. Impressions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram per quarter over the year.

We linked the Circular Economy resource that was planned into these resources as it supports
the overall topic focus and will hopefully be accessed by teachers using the whole resources set.
The Circular Economy Resource is also available as a stand-alone on Hwb and has been viewed

93 times since being uploaded in March Repository - Hwb (gov.wales)
