Flow tends to concentrate at the fans two outer sides. Manufactures compensate by adjusting the geometry of the opening.

Cone Nozzles
Cone nozzles have a round outlet hole. An insert is required to establish a rotary motion in order to form the cone. The shape of the inside of the body and the shape of the insert, along with the size of the opening, will determine the angle and flowrate.
