Hand Safety Continued

After several months of testing gloves in the field, setting up Loram part numbers, creating ordering processes in
EAM, and price negotiations with vendors, we finally settled on gloves from Railhead Corporation. Many of you
have already received the glove information and started to order these gloves directly through EAM. There are 2
summer or year-round options, as well as 2 winter, cold weather gloves available to order from Hamel. If you have
not received this information, please contact your direct manager.

These gloves have great choices for sizing,
from XS to 4XL/6XL, which means no matter
what your hand size, massive or extra small,
you will more than likely be able to find a
proper fitting glove, enabling you to leave them
                                         on for those finesse tasks.

I understand the difficulties we face every day out on our equipment, we are rushed and always have more to do
then we have time to accomplish. But we cannot rush through safety. If wearing your gloves causes a task to take
10 minutes longer, then so be it. Do not take a short cut to save a few minutes, potentially harming yourself or
         others.
                                            WEAR YOUR GLOVES!

A few pieces of advice to always remember:
         • Do not wear rings or jewelry to work.
         • Always wear your gloves when out of the cab.
         • Always take your hand safety into consideration when performing a 5-Step.

         • Always cut away from your body when using a blade.
         • Never put your hands in a pinch point.
         • Never put your hands under a suspended load.
         • Never hold something you are hitting with a hammer.
         • If you’re not sure how to use a power tool then don't use it.
         • Never use any digits to line up a hole.
         • Lastly, DO NOT think that wearing these or any other gloves makes your hands invincible, they do not!

Be safe and have a great day.
